How I got into snowboarding:
When I was younger I really had no interest in doing anything but snowmobile and sleigh ride in the winter. When I was 8 my Dad and my cousin took me to try snowboarding at one of our local hills, basically all that happened was they rented me a snowboard and pushed me down the hill. After that I hated snowboarding and wanted nothing to do with it until the next winter when my signed me up for snowboard lessons with a couple of my friends. I started to catch on quick and I actually enjoyed snowboarding, when there was someone actually teaching me what to do! After the lessons were over I went snowboarding almost every weekend.
When I was 11 I joined the snowboard team at Tabor Mountain (a local ski hill) and I loved it! I progressed so much in just 1 season that I decided I was going to join again the next season, except the team wasn't like the year before, I didn't like it all. I quit that and started riding with bill Laing (he ran a club out of Powder King) I liked this team even better then the first one. I rode with Bill until I was 14, I only stopped riding with Bill because I was asked to join team B.C. which there was noway I was going to turn down. I want to take snowboarding as far as can, which hopefully means the national team. But that's how I started snowboarding.
